Welcome

Little Friends, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization serving children and adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Based in Naperville, Illinois, Little Friends operates 14 programs including early intervention, alternative schools, family support, vocational training, and community-based residential services.

Little Friends was founded in 1965 and now serves more than 800 people each year from throughout DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Will and western Cook counties in Illinois.

» Little Friends Parent-Infant Program to Debut New Tots and Tales Group this Fall
  Little Friends’ Parent-Infant Program (PIP), which focuses on early intervention for children with developmental delays, will debut an exciting new class this fall. Designed for both typical and special needs children, Little Friends’ ‘Tots and Tales’ class will utilize engaging sensory activities to help children focus while reading stories. Children will have the opportunity to sing, dance and create art projects that relate back to the literary piece, all while learning in a fun and stimulating environment.


» Serendipity Resale Shop Seeking Donations
  The Serendipity Resale Shop, which is located at 12 W. Jefferson Avenue in downtown Naperville, is currently seeking donations of clothing, household items and collectibles. Proceeds from the volunteer-run shop benefit programs and services provided by Little Friends, Inc.


» Family Council to Host Free Information Session October 21
 

The Little Friends Family Council will host a free information session on government-sponsored benefits from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. This unique seminar will be held in Meeting Room B at Naperville’s 95th Street Library, 3015 Cedar Glade Drive.



» Little Friends Seeking Volunteers to Plan 2009 Bids for Kids Auction
  Little Friends, Inc. will host a meeting for community volunteers interested in helping to plan the agency’s 33rd Annual Bids for Kids Benefit Auction. The informational meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, at the agency’s Naperville location, 140 N. Wright Street.


» Little Friends to Host First Annual Autism Awareness Walk on June 28
  Little Friends, Inc. will host its first annual Step Up for Autism 5K walk/run on Sunday, June 28, 2009 along the Riverwalk in downtown Naperville. Designed to raise awareness about autism, a complex developmental disability that affects an estimated 1.5 million Americans, the Step Up for Autism walk is the first of its kind to be held in Naperville. Funds raised from the inaugural event will benefit children and adults with autism served by Little Friends, Inc. and the Little Friends Center for Autism.


» LFCA Visual System of the Month Promotion Underway
  The Little Friends Center for Autism’s state-of-the-art training systems are used by parents and professionals to teach individuals with autism life skills, behavior control and social skills. Beginning in September, LFCA will kick off its yearlong Visual System of the Month promotion, providing individuals with the opportunity to purchase one of the Center’s popular training systems at a 20 percent discount.

The Little Friends Center for Autism uses state-of-the-art training systems to conduct more than 100 trainings each year. The Center’s highly skilled autism experts provide training to parent groups, professionals and other community organizations on a number of topics, including behavior, communication and personal hygiene.
