In-Kind Donations

Donating new or used merchandise is another way that you can support Little Friends. Listed below is a sampling of how your donated items can help. For more information about any of these opportunities, please contact Cally Edwards at (630) 281-1882.

Little Friends Bids For Kids Benefit Auction

New items such as vacation rentals, gift certificates, sports/entertainment tickets, home decor, toys, jewelry and much more are put up for bid at Little Friends' largest annual fundraising event, the Bids for Kids Benefit Auction. Item donations are needed for both the Live and Silent auctions.

Giving Trees

Each December, Little Friends runs a Giving Tree program to provide gifts for children, adults and families served by Little Friends who are financially in need. By choosing a tag from the tree and purchasing the gift, your generosity will have a direct impact on making the holidays merrier for someone served by Little Friends. Business owners may also participate by hosting a Giving Tree from Thanksgiving until Christmas.

Used Clothing or Household Goods

Donations of good, used clothing and small household items may be brought to the Serendipity Resale Shop in downtown Naperville. The shop accepts adult and children's clothing, as well as small appliances, home decor, books, toys and more. Due to space constraints, the shop cannot accept furniture or large appliances.

Used Furniture (home or office)

  1. Used furniture is accepted on an as-needed basis due to limited storage space. The furniture is used in the homes of men and women served by our Community Living program, or in staff offices.

  2. Please do not be offended if we ask for specific information about color, size or even come out to look at an item before it is accepted. It is our policy to accept items for our clients' homes with the same careful attention to detail as we would for our own homes.

  3. If possible, please e-mail a short description and digital image of larger items, including furniture, appliances and office furniture to:
