Little Friends Sixth Annual Golf Classic September 15, 2008
Volunteer Shifts: Varies throughout the day. Golfers tee off at 12:30 p.m. Location: Naperville Country Club
Volunteers are needed throughout the day to help with registration, set-up, hole contests, raffles and much more.

Little Friends Phonathon November 12-13, 2008
Volunteer Shifts: 5:45-8:15 p.m. Location: National City Bank, 1001 S. Washington Street
Volunteers from across the agency and the community will be calling members of the Little Friends family between 6:15-8:15 p.m. on both nights from National City Bank in Naperville. We are currently seeking volunteers to help make phone calls, record information and assist with various administrative duties. Approximately 35 volunteers are needed each night to ensure we can successfully contact each member of the Little Friends family. Food and festivities included.

Friends of Little Friends Parade- November 28, 2008
Volunteer Shifts: 2-6 p.m. (A variety of shifts are available) Location: Downtown Naperville
Held each year as part of the Hometown Holidays celebration in downtown Naperville, this joyful holiday event features a spectacular collaboration of lighted and musical floats and Santa’s big arrival in preparation for the busy holiday season.
We are looking for Little Friends families and volunteers who would be interested in representing the agency by riding on the Little Friends float in this year’s parade. Volunteers are also needed to serve as parade helpers, reindeer helpers, costume character assistants and photographers.

Bids for Kids Benefit Auction Planning Committee- March 7, 2009
Little Friends, Inc. is looking for community volunteers who are interested in helping to plan the agency’s 33rd Annual Bids for Kids Benefit Auction. One of the longest-running auctions in the Naperville area, next year’s Bids for Kids Auction will be held on Saturday, March 7, at the Hilton Lisle-Naperville. Held annually, the event includes cocktails, dinner, live and silent auctions, raffles and dancing. Last year’s event raised nearly $125,000 to benefit children and adults served by Little Friends.
Community volunteers are needed to help plan all aspects of the Benefit Auction. Volunteers assist with logistics, sponsorships, marketing, decorations and live and silent auction item solicitation. The planning committee meets twice a month at the Little Friends Administrative Building.

Ongoing Volunteer Needs
Serendipity Resale Shop Volunteers
Volunteers are responsible for sorting and tagging donations and arranging merchandise displays. A number of volunteers can also assist at the shop by serving as cashiers throughout the week. Volunteers must be able to walk up and down stairs, while carrying merchandise.
Volunteers in the shop’s clothing and linen departments are needed to work between 9 a.m.-noon on Mondays or Thursdays. Volunteers interested in working in the shop’s household department are needed from 9 a.m.-noon one day each week. Volunteers interested in serving as cashiers at the shop are needed to work four hour shifts one day each week. The Serendipity Shop is also seeking community volunteers to assist on Saturday mornings between the hours of 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This opportunity is ideal for college and high school students. Volunteers must be 14 years old.
The Serendipity Resale Shop is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Screen Printing Interns
Creative, hard-working and self-motivated interns are needed at ColorBurst Screen Printing, which is operated by the vocational division of Little Friends. Interns are needed to assist in direct print production and set-up, work on manual and automatic presses, meet deadlines, ensure quality control, prepare artwork for output (Illustrator & Photoshop experience required), and be willing to work alongside individuals with disabilities.
Flexible hours are available including morning, afternoon and early evening shifts, weekdays only. This is an unpaid internship but college credit may be earned.
