Our dedicated staff is what drives the success of Little Friends. Today, we feature Bill Novak, Assistant Transportation Coordinator in our Spectrum Vocational Services Program. Bill recently celebrated his 5 year anniversary at Little Friends. When asked what he loves about his job, Bill responded:
“I did not have any experience working with special needs people before coming here and in the beginning it definitely was a challenge! I maintain a fleet of 40 vans for the transportation department, along with driving full time morning and afternoon routes with the clients. I have truly enjoyed getting to know most of the clients, and am greeted fondly every time I walk through the workshop by many of them, it is a good feeling! I also enjoy the challenge of keeping all of the vans in top running order and being able to schedule my own days’ work which includes van maintenance, washes, safety stickers, emissions testing and whatever else pops up! I have gotten to know a few of the clients personally from talking with them on the daily van rides, and it is interesting to hear about their outings, family, holidays, etc. I look forward to their stories and adventures every day!”
Bill, thank you for the dedication and compassion you bring to our clients’ lives every day!
