CANCELED - LITTLE FRIENDS PARADE OF LIGHTS DECEMBER 1, 2018

Due to the continuous rain forecasted for today and the chance of thunderstorms this evening, Little Friends and the Downtown Naperville  Alliance, under the guidance of the Naperville Police Department and safety management staff, regrettably must cancel tonight’s Little Friends Parade of Lights in downtown Naperville.

The safety of participants and spectators is of utmost importance and at this time we feel today’s conditions provide too many risks to those involved.  While we are disappointed that this event cannot go on as planned, we appreciate the support the community has shown Little Friends and we hope we can all gather again next year to ring in the holidays.

Sadly, we do not have a rain date for this year due to the many components that help create a parade but look forward to seeing you all in celebration at the Little Friends Parade of Lights in 2019! Wishing you a safe and happy holiday with those you love.

PARADE ROUTE

Mark your calendars & plan to attend this popular annual holiday parade and tradition brought to you by Little Friends in partnership with the Downtown Naperville Alliance. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to celebrate the Season! Bundle up and enjoy an evening of festivities, brightly lit floats and musical entertainment!

The Parade will launch from Jackson Avenue, at Mill Street, heading east to north on Main Street, ending at Main Street and Van Buren Avenue. The parade will travel thru the heart of downtown under the beautiful twinkling lights. Parade viewing will be sparkling anywhere along the parade route!

PARKING

NEW REMOTE PARKING! It is strongly recommended that spectators take advantage of newly created remote parking options.  Buses will transport attendees from parking at Yellow Box Community Christian Church, 1635 Emerson Lane; Wheatland Salem Church 1852, 95th Street; and Naperville North High School, 899 N Mill St, with drop off at the Naperville Municipal Center to access parade viewing . Pick up routes to downtown will run between 5:00-7:00pm.  Return routes to the remote locations will run between 8:00-9:30pm.  TukTuk and other alternative transportation into the downtown area is also suggested due to anticipated crowds.

City Deck, Central Parking Deck, Van Buren or the Water Street parking decks will offer the additional parking choices, along with parking lots. Be advised, street parking on parade streets will be removed starting at 4pm.

VISITS WITH SANTA

Immediately following the parade Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with kids inside the Santa House (until 9pm) on the Riverwalk. He & Mrs. Claus can’t wait to see you!
