Mansion High School
Mansion High School’s (MHS) mission is to bring balance to students’ lives. MHS provides a therapeutic and academic environment supporting students’ mental health and empowering their academic and personal growth. The primary goal of the Mansion program is to reduce the impact of life’s obstacles such that students are empowered to attend and engage in academic learning and personal growth experiences.
Mansion High School maintains a low staff-to-student ratio, with a maximum enrollment of thirty students. The program is specifically designed for students who have difficulty functioning in a large school environment. With four academic classrooms, individual, small and whole group therapies, Physical Education, Music and Art opportunities, students move around the school setting much like a traditional high school, yet in a more intimate, small school setting.
An essential component of the Mansion program is the Solutions-based Brief Therapy (SfBT) model utilized throughout the day in both clinical and academic settings.
The Mansion High School Clinical Team also offers an array of family support services, including family consultations, outreach, consultations with outside therapists, referral information for community supports, and transition services for students during and after their high school years.
The Mansion High School is an Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) approved program. Students can earn their high school diploma upon completing coursework aligned with their home school’s graduation requirements. Mansion operates a 5.5 hour school day from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm with transportation provided by the home school district.
