Krejci Academy is a multi-faceted educational program for nearly 130 students, ages 5 to 21, who have autism or other emotional, behavioral or developmental disabilities. Students are referred to Krejci Academy by their home school district. Currently, Krejci Academy serves students from over 50 different school districts across northeastern Illinois.
School is in session at Krejci Academy five days a week from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. In addition to the regular school year, students may attend a five-week summer school program. Krejci Academy is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education. Credits are issued according to the graduation requirements of each student's home school district.
Krejci Academy serves children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders, social/emotional disorders and mild to profound developmental disabilities. “Krejci Academy has given our son the tools and confidence to grow and develop into a wonderful person. Since Malcolm has attended Little Friends, he has developed skills that he may not have mastered as easily without the encouragement and support of the Krejci family. To all the staff at Krejci Academy, our family thanks you for recognizing Malcolm's unique personality and his limitless potential. Your dedication in providing a safe, accepting space in which anyone with special needs can grow into a promising individual has been immeasurable.”
